In the autumn of 2021, I was lucky enough to spend several days, on an intensive sculpting course, under the professional tuition of International Animal Sculptor, Nick Mackman.  She convinced me, I could sculpt, and taught me

some amazing techniques. What a journey!

As a child, I could always be found drawing animals, from a simple cartoon, to more complex life drawings. This continued well into my teens, progressing into Gouache Portrait commissions in my twenties & thirties.

From leaving school, I went onto college where my I found my

A-level Art A' grade exam piece, was retained by the Tate gallery, as a example of student art in the 1980's. This helped to confirm my place within a London Art College, where I studied a Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, along with Art History, Illustration, Typography, Photograpy and Printing.

On graduation, I spent several years in central London working as an Art Director within advertising agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, and Lowe Howard Spink.

However, I found myself sneaking off into the green stuff. I often went AWAL and could be found sitting on a horse in Hyde Park, or better still, Windsor Great Park!

This happened with such regularity, that after 10 years in central London, I realized that London and the world of advertising wasn't going to be my lifetime vocation.

I loved animals and the countryside, and wanted to be in it.

I moved to West Sussex and set up my own Graphic Design & Illustration business,

Later I moved to the highlands of  Scotland, where I surrounded myself with Dogs, Cats, Goats, Chickens and Horses and then on to the Wiltshire Downs for a few years. Then it was Cyprus, the Greece Islands, Leicestershire, the Canaries, Cornwall, Dartmoor and finally back to West Sussex, where it all started.
